Our First Flash Mob! May 1, 2011

For those of you new to our website, you may not have heard about our incredible flash mob!  On May 1, 2011 we surprised a large audience at the Santa Monica Place Mall with an original dance choreographed by Lisa Gumenick of The Pretenders Dance Studio.

We had been rehearsing for weeks and were super excited to do this!  It was our first major event as a foundation…we really did it to get ourselves on the map and to spread awareness about cystic fibrosis.

With the help of our sponsors, Flash Mob America, NorthStar Moving Corporation, The Pretenders Dance Studio and My Location Scouts we had a great turnout and were able to raise over $24,000 to help us help others living with this disease.

What a kick in the pants!  If you’ve never done a flash mob before – FIND ONE AND DO IT!!  You won’t regret it!

Here is our video of the event:  Claire’s Place Foundation Flash Mob – May 1, 2011

Trying an Experimental Treatment and Preparing for our Flash Mob!

Claire talks a little about starting a run of Methotrexate..it is a cytotoxic drug that helps lower the number of white cells that cause all the mucus in the lungs.  If you haven’t heard about this approach for cystic fibrosis, you can read more about it here:  CFF.org article regarding Methotrexate and cystic fibrosis

Claire also talks a little about getting ready for our upcoming flash mob on May 1, 2011!  So exciting!!
