For those of you new to our website, you may not have heard about our incredible flash mob! On May 1, 2011 we surprised a large audience at the Santa Monica Place Mall with an original dance choreographed by Lisa Gumenick of The Pretenders Dance Studio.
We had been rehearsing for weeks and were super excited to do this! It was our first major event as a foundation…we really did it to get ourselves on the map and to spread awareness about cystic fibrosis.
With the help of our sponsors, Flash Mob America, NorthStar Moving Corporation, The Pretenders Dance Studio and My Location Scouts we had a great turnout and were able to raise over $24,000 to help us help others living with this disease.
What a kick in the pants! If you’ve never done a flash mob before – FIND ONE AND DO IT!! You won’t regret it!
Thank you so much for visiting our website to learn more about Claire’s Place Foundation, Inc. and see what we are up to! Your donation means so much to the families living with cystic fibrosis. Please watch my video below to learn more ~
Here’s a fun summer update from Claire. In her video below she talks about adjusting your expectations of your self based on your particular situation. For her, learning to sail was a dream that she never thought she could attain due to her cystic fibrosis..this summer, we met with South Bay Sailing in Hermosa Beach, CA and they were willing to work with us and our particular situation. Claire has been in sailing camp for a little over a week and is thoroughly enjoying it. Living life to the fullest!
Claire shares a little art project she did during a long hospital stay at the famous Children’s Hospital LA. She was 6 years old at the time, trying to show other kids how to have fun and use art as a outlet on long stays ~
Claire explains a little bit of her tools for preparing for surgery. For other kids going through similar situations, hopefully this will help you! There is also a more professional video on the CF University page of this website called “Tips and Tricks: Relaxation 101″
