Our Mission
Claire’s Place Foundation provides heart-felt assistance to the families of children and to individuals diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. We work to heighten awareness and we provide education, skills, financial and emotional support.
Work Proudly Program
The Work Proudly program was created to help participants identify potential careers, cover the cost of certificate job training, and provide tools and equipment for remote work. CF caregivers and adult patients need flexible, mobile jobs that allow them to continue working while dealing with the intense regimen of CF care. This allows participants to gain the skills to be competitive in the job market and acquire flexible, work-from-home, or work-from-hospital employment.

COVID-19 Emergency Fund
Many CF individuals and families are already living dangerously close to the poverty line, often with only one income earner. For two years the pandemic has exacerbated an already tenuous situation for many CF families due to isolation or loss of income. This fund assists food-insecure members of the CF community during this trying time.

Hospital Playrooms
Created to honor Claire, the hospital playrooms carry on her legacy of compassion by providing pediatric patients with a bright, functional space for a wide range of activities, games, and play therapy. Working alongside the hospital’s Child Life Specialists, we ensure all playrooms are age and developmentally appropriate.
Family Resource Support Network
Our network of families and young adults is available to be Support Families for people newly diagnosed with cystic fibrosis or isolated families looking for assistance. Families are connected with another CF family who will provide guidance in navigating the overall care process.
Our Impact
Meet Monica
Georgia — Extended Hospital Stay
“This program is very important because there are families out there who cannot afford these long hospital stays. Families are really affected by how expensive it can be. It also becomes really difficult to pay your own bills when paying an expensive stay. Claire's Place Foundation is a huge help and I am very appreciative and happy that this program exists!”
Meet Erika
Ohio — Extended Hospital Stay
“Our child was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis when he was two weeks old. He has had so many hospitalizations, that we had no choice this past year to file bankruptcy. This Grant has allowed us to stay afloat and try and get back on our feet”
Meet Vivianne
Raised Money for COVID Relief Fund
When COVID-19 hit, Vivianne rallied her family and friends to support CFers who were extra vulnerable during the pandemic. By bringing her community together for a cause, Vivianne raised $4,213.95 for our COVID support fund

A Letter from Our Executive Director
As we look back on 2021, our hearts are full of gratitude. Claire's Place Foundation celebrated our 10 year anniversary ~ such a mindblower when I think back to planning and brainstorming with Claire and John in our little Malibu Canyon apartment so long ago. None of us could have known what her organization would become and that we would still be going strong 10 years later, even without our beloved founder.
Claire’s underlying vision for Claire’s Place Foundation was to improve the quality of life for individuals and families living with cystic fibrosis. Through our many programs, that vision continues to be our guiding light.
We are all reminded in her many videos and public speaking engagements that for her, the most important thing in life was recognizing the power each one of us has to make a positive impact, to be of service to others and to always remember how sacred and miraculous this one life is. I know that before she passed, she had such pride in what we've been able to accomplish here and the difference she made for so many. I know she lived a life she was proud of. For that, I am eternally grateful to each one of you who help us keep our doors open and our programs available for families and individuals when they need a helping hand. It is an honor to continue her work.
I have been so moved by our CF community and their incredible strength and resilience as we continue to deal with Covid. The stories I have heard are quite heartbreaking at times and triumphant at others. You can follow us on social media to see testimonials, pictures and videos from our clients ~ it's a wonderful way to warm your heart and to see your donations in action.
Sending you all much love and best wishes for 2022!
With gratitude,
Melissa Yeager
Executive Director
