WPP Volunteer Spotlight: Kyla Duffy
“Sometimes the difference between stagnation and a life aligned with your values is just a shove in the right direction.” ~ Kyla Duffy
That belief sits at the heart of Kyla Duffy’s work and it is exactly why she is such a powerful volunteer within our Work Proudly Program.
Kyla brings an impressive professional background to Claire’s Place Foundation. She holds bachelor’s degrees in Marketing and Spanish Translation, a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership, and is trained in International Coaching Federation and National Career Development Association methodologies. She has supported more than 4,000 individuals in refining resumes, strengthening LinkedIn profiles, navigating interviews, and stepping confidently into new professional chapters. She has even earned recognition among Upwork’s Top 1% of freelancers.
But what makes Kyla such a gift to our community goes far beyond credentials.
At 34, she made a life changing decision to leave a secure university teaching position in Colorado and join a flying trapeze troupe in Japan. The move required immense courage. It meant months of physical pain, humility, perseverance, and starting over in an environment where many performers were younger and more experienced.
Through grit and determination, and with the support of great coaches, she found mastery on the other side of fear.
That lived experience deeply shapes the empathy she brings to our Work Proudly clients.
Adults living with cystic fibrosis often face unique professional challenges. Managing treatments, fatigue, infections, and unpredictable health while trying to build a stable career requires creativity, resilience, and support. Many are not lacking talent or drive. They simply need tools, strategy, and someone in their corner.
That is where Kyla steps in.
Through resume refinement, LinkedIn optimization, interview preparation, and thoughtful coaching, she helps our clients reduce work related stress and rediscover confidence. She helps them articulate their strengths clearly. She helps them see possibility where discouragement once lived.
Her family motto is “Go for it.” It is something she carries into every coaching session, encouraging clients to pursue careers aligned with their values, health needs, and long term goals.
We are incredibly grateful for Kyla’s generosity, professionalism, and heart. Volunteers like her expand what is possible within the Work Proudly Program and allow us to serve our community with excellence.
When I see someone like Kyla give her time and talent so generously, I am reminded that none of this work happens alone. It truly takes a community.
Kyla, thank you for helping our clients develop their compass, trust their voice, and take brave steps forward.
