Why We Ride
The Hermosa Beach Glow Ride began with a simple idea. Bring people together, light up the coast, and ride in support of families living with cystic fibrosis.
Now in its 12th year, the Hermosa Beach Glow Ride is more than a bike ride. It is a celebration of community, resilience, and hope. Each glowing bike represents a family navigating hospital stays, medical uncertainty, and the emotional and financial toll of cystic fibrosis.
This annual ride supports Claire’s Place Foundation’s programs, including our Extended Hospital Stay Grant Program and long-term support services that help individuals and families when they need it most. Funds raised help cover everyday essentials during extended hospitalizations and provide stability during some of life’s hardest moments.
When we ride together along the Hermosa Beach coast, we honor the legacy of Claire Wineland and the thousands of individuals living proudly with cystic fibrosis. We ride for parents sleeping in hospital rooms. For adults managing CF while building independent lives. For caregivers, siblings, and loved ones who show up every day.
Whether you ride, volunteer, fundraise, or cheer from the sidelines, your participation makes a real impact. Together, we light the way forward for the cystic fibrosis community.
More Than a Ride
The Hermosa Beach Glow Ride is designed to be fun for all ages. Whether you are riding or just coming to soak up the glow, there is something for everyone.
Last year’s ride included face painting for kids, pizza and ice cream for riders and volunteers, and complimentary bike rentals thanks to our friends at Hermosa Cyclery.
We are bringing that same energy back to the pier. Expect glowing bikes, ocean air, music, smiles, and a welcoming atmosphere where families, friends, and supporters can come together for a great cause.
