Meet Maryam

Meet our most recent Extended Hospital Stay grant awardee! We are so excited that the Claire's Place Foundation grant program is in full swing and benefiting amazing kids like 14 year old Maryam and many others.20140212_201657Maryam was referred to us by our very own Miller Children's Hospital in Long Beach, CA. Claire has spent much of her life in the same hospital with all their wonderful doctors and nurses so we were thrilled when the referral came to us.Maryam is another brave teen living with cystic fibrosis.  Her life has been characterized by many stays in the hospital while trying to live her life to the fullest.  Her family was referred to us during an especially tough year that included many extended stays in the hospital.  We were so grateful to be able to offer them a grant to help make ends meet while tending to her needs."I just wanted to say, as a mother, "I'm sure you know".  There is nothing harder than watching your child suffer and not being able to kiss the hurts away.  It's also very difficult to admit the fact that you need help and can't do it alone.  Just knowing that there are places like Claire's Place Foundation who are willing to lend a helping hand and take on some of the financial burden that so many of us families with chronically ill children carry, is not only a great resource but very inspiring.
