Save the date – Join the Global Giving Movement 11.28.2017

#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration.

Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.

This #GivingTuesday, Claire’s Place Foundation is partnering with Facebook and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to make your giving so much easier and more impactful. We are setting up our campaign so that ALL donations made through our Facebook page on November 28, 2017 beginning at 5am PST will be free of fees and will be matched up to $50,000 by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Our “Donate” button on our Facebook page will allow you to donate and share in one simple click ..easy peasy!

Be sure to set your alarms to make your donation early as the matching grant only lasts until they reach their $2,000,000 limit. For those of you on the East Coast, you get a great head start.

We encourage you to share our Giving Tuesday campaign on your own page or even fundraise on our behalf with your friends and family by a simple click of a button. Go to our FB page and click “Fundraisers” on the left side of the page. It will take you to a site where you can choose to “Raise Money”, create your own Giving Tuesday fundraiser and share it will all of your friends and family on social media.

This is the biggest day of the year to show your support for your favorite charities. We hope you are inspired by our mission here at Claire’s Place Foundation and choose to make a difference for families living with #cysticfibrosis on the daily. We are always grateful for you, our loving community of supporters.

Stay tuned for the countdown to Tuesday, November 28, 2017 and get ready to GIVE!

Be sure to “like” us on Facebook so you can take advantage of this great opportunity

May is CF Awareness Month ~ 3 Ways to Get Involved

May 5, 2017
May is Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Month
Our mission here at Claire’s Place Foundation is to raise awareness about cystic fibrosis on a national and sometimes global level as well as provide financial and emotional support to the children and families it affects.
In honor of CF Awareness Month, please consider making a small commitment to get involved ~ following are 3 ways you can make an impact in May

Thank you for your support!  Each and every one of you are valued and appreciated.  I could not have made this happen without you.  Claire Wineland, Founder

This year, we have been blessed by 3 individuals who are inspired by our mission and chose to make a contribution in a big way.  Kathie and Paul donated their wedding shower by requesting that donations be made to our foundation in lieu of wedding gifts. Rocker Riki Rachtman is riding his motorcycle across 48 states on his epic #RikisRide17 to raise money and awareness for our cause starting June 1st and Doug is cycling 3400 miles from Oregon to New York on his “Cycling USA 4 CF” tour raising money and awareness as he goes.  ALL are incredible, heroic acts of selflessness and we want to support them in any way we can.  You can help by visiting their various sites and making a donation or by contacting us with an idea for your own creative event.
Our Founder, Claire Wineland, will be sharing her story about living a life she loves, not in spite of having been born with cystic fibrosis but because of it.  Show your support by joining us on May 12th for the TEDx event “We are all in this together”.  It is sure to be a day of inspiration and community.  Tickets will sell out so be sure to reserve yours today.

With all the media spotlight and the new connections we are making with hospital Social Workers across the country,  the number of families and children referred to us and our important programs continue to grow.  We are always grateful to meet new families and nothing gives us more happiness than to be able to help them during Extended Hospital Stays.  But, we need your support so that we can keep up with the demand.
Please consider becoming a monthly donor in honor of CF Awareness Month from May 2017 to May 2018 and watch how your donations help families across the country.  If you sign up today and select “Recurring Monthly Donation” for at least $25/month, we will send you a custom Claire’s Place Foundation “CLAIRITY” t-shirt and bracelet as a thank you gift along with a private message in May 2018 showing a brief story and picture of every family we were able to assist during that 12 month period with your donations.
Our recent “2nd Annual Comedy Roast for Charity” honoring our dear friend Mr Ted Kaplan was a huge success!  Thank you again to all of you who joined us and supported our event.  We raised over $26,000, all of which will go directly towards funding our programs in 2017.  To see all the beautiful pics by Julia Lofstrandt Photography, click HERE or on the picture to the left.

World of Children®Recognizes Claire’s Place Foundation

September 17, 2016
Claire’s Place Foundation Recognized for Supporting Children Living with Cystic Fibrosis
World of Children® Youth Honoree 2016
The only way we ourselves can get through pain and suffering is by giving to others – so that is what my family and I decided to do.”  ~ Claire Wineland
These are the words that started our foundation 6 years ago.
World of Children® Award improves the lives of vulnerable children by funding and elevating the most effective change makers for children worldwide.  This year, our Founder Claire Wineland, has been awarded the Youth Award 2016 for the work she does here at Claire’s Place Foundation and with children living with cystic fibrosis around the world.  We are humbled and grateful to say the least.  Please take a minute and visit their website where you can see profiles of all the 2016 Honorees ~ quite an amazing group of individuals.
As part of their 2016 Award, World of Children® has initiated a matching campaign for Claire’s Place Foundation.  All donations made through this Crowdrise link between September 15 and October 21, 2016, will be DOUBLE MATCHED up to $5,000. That means your $10 donation turns into $30 , your $100 turns into $300! And because they are underwriting all processing fees, 100% of your donation goes to Claire’s Place Foundation and the families we support!

We don’t want to miss out on a single penny of this amazing offer to help children living with cystic fibrosis. World of Children will match our $5,000 with another $10,000 making a grand total of $15,000!  We can do this with your help.

“When a child is sick, especially with Cystic Fibrosis, nothing matters more to them and their family than being able to be together… but often that requires a lot of love and support from others”

On behalf of all the children and families we will be able to assist with your donations, thank you!

It’s that time again!  Join us on October 8th for our 4th Annual Poker Event benefiting children and families living with cystic fibrosis.

samantha-frossSamantha and Kathie have quite a rare situation, both mother and daughter have cystic fibrosis.
Claire’s Place Foundation is a life saver!  They helped with rent and power, saving us from being evicted. We are a family with mother and daughter with CF and had an extreme circumstance come up that was unexpected right after my daughter spent 27 days in the hospital. Thank you for your kind and loving support
